General InformationYet Another Festival Update
Music For the first year we are inviting BBC introducing into the arena to work with is to bring you the very best of new young talent. In addition to this, the Carling stage is no longer and has been renamed the Festival Republic stage. AnimalsNo animals are allowed onsite at all, with the exception of registered guide dogs. Gate ManagersWe are introducing new gate managers this year at the main pedestrian gates into the site. They are Festival Republic staff and they are there to ensure the gates operate at they should do. They are also there to answer any ticket enquiries that you may have. They will have special tabards on and so they should be quite visible. TescosYou may see that there is a new Tesco’s on the Portman Road/Oxford Road but we would advise that you continue to get the free boat service from green gate to the older Tescos at Kings Meadow, as the pedestrian route to the new Portman Road Tesco is quite long and dark at night. HatsThis year we are introducing HATs (Helpful Arena Teams) into the arena and they are there in a similar vein to the CATs in the campsites - that is to help you. They are mobile and you will see their clearly marked tabards and so please do talk to them about any concerns that you have, or ask them anything that you wish to know about the event. SmokingSmoking is not permitted in any of the public tents and this includes the big top tents in the arena – ie Radio One stage and others. Please take care to remember this when wandering around the arena. Late Night EntertainmentThe late night entertainment has been a very welcome addition to the event over the past couple of years and it is something we are keen to continue with to give you more to do in the after hours. The ever popular Silent Disco will run again til 3am on nights that the arena is open And its location is yet to be anounced at this point in time. Arena Opening TimesFriday 22nd August - Arena opens 11am Any changes to the running order are passed on to the Information Tent and will be published in locations onsite, e.g. the campsite zone managers' caravans. |
