Car Parking

Camping Next to Car

You have to camp in the main area, not in the car park.

What Choice Do I Have?

  • ORANGE: This is towards yellow camp. 10 minute walk from the main entrance into the arena if you've parked at the front. if you are parking in anywhere APART from GREEN or WHITE camp, this is your best bet.
  • WHITE: This is over the river from the festival and is aimed at people coming from the north west and midlands but in theory should only be for the people wanting to camp in white. If parking in white and camping elsewhere, you will have to endure queues and boat rides. Avoid at all costs unless you fancy it or are camping in white. We believe campervans will be in this area in 2007.
  • GREEN: Green is next to green - tada! Several years, it has been next to green camp but has started moving further away to the point where if you're at the back, there is a boat ride. Suitable if you are planning to stay in green camp.
  • RED: This is for special people but last year, I believe a few people managed to get it that were not 'Very Important'
  • OTHER: There are other car parks around the place, some even way down the river that were put up by Mean Fiddler. We encourage you to stick to the ones that Mean Fiddler have put on, unless you know someone with an underground secure car park with 24/7 security.

Campervans

Anyone wishing to bring a campervan or caravan to the Carling Weekend: Reading 2007 must pre-book a campervan pass There will be a £10 charge for bringing your campervan to the festival Campervan passes will be strictly limited and the access to the site with a campervan will be via White Gate this year for the first time Campervans will NOT be permitted access into Red Gate, by the Rivermead Centre, this year The exact directions to White Gate will be on the back of the campervan/caravan pass that we will send you nearer the event

Meanfiddler have revised the terms and conditions for access into the campervans field. You can find them 9and also apply for a pass) using this link: http://www.meanfiddler.com/campervans/reading.html

Cost and place to buy?

Bugger - they looked to be sold out this year! prices are around £5 if they do come back on sale.

What else do I need to know?

  • It's 1 car park pass per car.
  • You can leave the site and come back again but you'd be very very very lucky for your space not to have gone!
  • Each person in the car needs a weekend ticket to be shown upon entry.
  • Get an early entry ticket! This will allow you to come down on Wednesday in relative comfort, be close to the tents and have time to setup. Being close to your car and make your festival so much better.
  • No early entry? Go at night - late at night. Remember to bring a torch though.
  • Once parked, take everything out and leave it as empty as possible. Literally - empty EVERYTHING out.
  • Obviously - close all doors and windows!
  • Don't take down your BMW or Mercedes. It'll either get scratched pr trashed!
