You will be at recycling points around the festival, in the campgrounds showing people which bin to put their recycling in.
You will be rostered to do 24 hours from Thursday to Sunday, during daylight hours. All volunteers are welcome to enjoy the festival when they are off-shift.

If you want to email us your entry, please send it to: competition@strictlyreading.co.uk. Alternatively, sign up to our forums and post your entry here: http://strictlyreading.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=642.0
We have it on good authority that there will be another announcement to the lineup early next week... yes, as usual, we are first with the news.
I'd probably say Tuesday morning would be a good time to stay tuned.

Festival Republic, promoters of the Reading and Leeds Festival, are keen to alert all festival goers to an unofficial site on MySpace. The site, calling itself Festival Unlocked, claims to be a competition for unsigned bands to play at this year’s event. The site has no link with the festival and none of the bands will be on the bill via this site.

Bands must be local to Berkshire to be in with a chance
"Fancy appearing on Radio One or even performing at the Reading Festival?
If you’re in a band or you’re a solo artist and you’re all serious about your music career, then the aforementioned two should be an aspiration.
Well let me help you with that. Basically, if you e-mail me MP3s of your demos, adding a bit of blurb about yourself and your Berkshire credentials, then I may very well pass them on to the likes of Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens.

We all know Carling will no longer be sponsoring the Reading and Leeds weekend so what's the 3rd tent ging to be called?
BBC and Radio 1 already have stuck their noses in to many aspects of the festivals and we believe rather than the 3rd tent being called Carling or some other insanely poor beverage, it'll be the "BBC Introducing tent" - or something slightly more catchy!
The latest on "BBC Introducing" can be found here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/introducing/events/
Three "American headliners" have agreed to top the bill at the Reading and Leeds Festivals this August, organiser Melvin Benn has confirmed. From what we understand, it will look similar to the below:

The team behind the Reading, Leeds, Latitude and Glastonbury festivals have branched stateside for the first time, with a brand new event called the Vineland Music Festival.
