Yes
We all believe that you are the lead singer
Here Come The Warm Jets must play
I also have heard rumours of that up and coming band - Here Come The Warm Jets from Sunny Croydon may perform at Leeds/Reading Festivals this year.
Here's hoping for them! It would be my highlight of the festival for sure!
RE. Here Come The Warm Jets
i heard from a band member they are playing in the nme tent on friday at around 7.
just what i heard...
Rumours
Ive heard this new band from London, called Here Come the Warm Jets are headlinin the Lock up Stage, with special appearances from MC Strrrretch, IM GOING JUST FOR THat, go search for them on Myspace, they are Awesome!!!
Green Day please
I think it's about time Green Day got their act together and did something.
It's been waaaaay too long.
But you know what? I also think we should all just wait and see who's going to be there because after all, the lineup's being released tomorrow. Is that too long for some of you guys to wait? *rolls eyes and anticipates the answer of several hundrend people . . . including myself XD*
wwwweeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr
if they play along with rage, metallica, slipknot, avended sevenfold, machine head, modest mouse, shikari, serj, QOTSA i may just die of awesomeness
Reading Rock
I am really exited about the line up. :)its goin to b good ill miss my mum though
Subways
Saw Subways in Falmouth yesterday night, Billy (the lead) told me they were playing for definite, I asked him as i got my picture taken with him (worth the 40min wait, he's a really nice guy). That was the losing of my photo-with-a-band-member virginity, I am now a real man.
:O
MACHINE F*CKIN HEAD
I would go there
just to see them, bullet and metallica
screw all the other bands going
+ its on my 18th birthday :D
Pendulum

MCR
MCR should definantly be there.
if they are then im there.
but i SO agree they need some more actual rock bands, not just all this "indie" stuff.
definantly bring back the metal avenged sevenfold will be amazing though,
if they are there.
i think greenday would also be pretty good & definantly Slipnot!
bring back the rock
(:
MCRRRRRR ARE SHIT...THEY
MCRRRRRR ARE SHIT...THEY WOULD GET BOOOOEEDDDD OFF THE STAGE
I agree
MCR should die a disturbing death.
Ha ha ha
MCR should never ever play a festival again. Let's out the fact that they are talentless to one side for the moment. The crowds at each festival has been small and full of teenage girls. Does a rock festival need a lot of teenage girls who spend half their lifetime making themselves look like NME tell them to?
You "SO" agree do you? Why do you want MCR there then?
Kings of Leon?
Kings of Leon?
KOL are head lining V and
KOL are head lining V and therefore wont be at reading/leeds :(
???
???
Avenged & Paramore
Is Avenged Sevenfold a Big Contended and going to play at reading, is there a really high chance they are?
Also how about Paramore?
What?
What?
Can you see the table above at all?
Vampire Weekend
I had a dream, and my dreams have the normal habbit of coming true therefore vampire weekend will play i can swear on my bacon sandwhich.
Nine Inch Nails
tour dates are on their website for Reading and Leeds
One year too late
One year too late I'm afraid
fairly certain kasabian are
fairly certain kasabian are playing penultimate set at reading on friday....as for the other couldnt give a flying fuck about bands like 'avenged sevenfol' or whatever the fuck they are called...
gallows
I was at the Gallows gig last night at the Astoria and they self-confirmed that they will be playing reading/leeds more than likely with some new material too!
woooop!
DUDE, AWESOME!!!!!!!
i love gallows, and with aveneged sevenfold, metallica, the wombats, less than jake and rage against the machine all possibly playing i might cry with happiness!!!!!!!
When it says "NME
When it says "NME unfortunately" Does it mean its been annouced by NME, and "unfortunately"... they chat rubbish?
NME/Unfortunately
It means that NME are an insanely pathetic publication
OI - NOFX DID NOT DROP OUT LAST YEAR!!!
They were booked and then got sacked from the bill in favour of some Emo shite!!! They were taking the piss on their UK tour recently, and were a bit miffed, to be honest. So they did say that they would love to play this year, if given the right amount of money!! ha ha!
Please get your facts right
They were offered a spot, they didn't take the spot. That's what happened. I'm not even the greatest NOFX fan and yet I know this.
RIP Rock
Damn, well I don't think I'll be going this year if the Babyshambles are going...thats not rock, it's not even indie.
What happened to the good old days with Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, SOAD.
It's cool that Metallica is rumoured, but I'm not going to see one damn band!
All the "The" bands are far to afraid to use their distortion setting for you to hear them anyway.
Bring back the METAL!
So absolutely true...
So absolutely true... Unfortunately! Reading has sold its soul and gone where the money is, not the talent. Hopefully this year with them losing the Carling partnership they may chose real talent over sales figures though? Trouble is they are halfway between Download and V at the minute and thats not a good place for a *ahem* 'Rock' festival to be!!
Does anyone know when we are likely to start getting confirmations from the official organisers?
Going back to the "NME Unfortunately" business... Can you please clear this up for me? Do they have a history of getting these things wrong? or is it just 'unfortunate' because they have got the scoop? I would love to see Metalica and Foo Fighters again! I had to endure hippies, Newton Faulkner, Torrential rain and several thousand lethargic morons at V festival last year to see the Foos, but it was TOTALLY worth it!!!
???
Well - V is indie/pop and Download is metal/rock so I'd say it is a good place to be.
31st march - the day tickets are released is when we expect to start hearing about acts.
NME Unfortunately - take it as you want :-)
a7x
well avaenged sevenfold are playing and they are pretty damn amazing, metaly i thnk =D
should b awesome
It seems nowadays that
It seems nowadays that Reading is no longer the dominant metal festival and that Download has taken over that scene. Or that because the music scene has changed a fair bit the past few years, the festival organisers feel they need to cater to the younger, newer, more willing to spend consumer audience.
<3
What are you on about?
Reading Festival was never a metal festival. MoR/Download/Wacken has always took that that title. hell, even Download isn't a Metal festival. Wacken is probably the largest metal festival in Europe.
Reading Festival has always been about diversity with an emphasis on rock.
what ev trev
what ev trev
<3
Bizarre
What a bizarre reply
Jazz? Yeah lets have some jazz!
Used to be Jazz. I want Jazz.
"I dont like heavy metal. I love the jazz"
Ollllddd
Most metal nowadays suxxx!!! Emo shite - if you put metal on now all you get are a bunch if eyelinered-up moping obnoxious goth kids.
RAge Against The MAchine!!? How can that not give you a boner?
How old are you grandad? Still got your denim jacket with Status Quo on the back? tsk...
Hey
Status Quo aren't that bad.
The generation gap plays a massive part in making a festival succeed. You have to think who your main target audience is. and then bring in bands that appeal.
If you are from an older generation, chances are most festivals wont cater for your vintage taste in music, you will have to look further for your fix of rock 'n' roll.
How wrong can you be - oh yes. You.
LoG, Metallica, SOAD, Judas Priest, Mastodon, Machine Head, Slayer, Sepultura.... no EMOs there kiddo.
Rock or Metal?
You're not going to a festival with over 100 bands playing just because of one band being rumoured??? if it's not rock, and it's not Indie, what genre is it?
AC/DC don't really do festivals. Maiden played recently. Sabbath aren't really together. LZ are not really together. SOAD are apart. Any more bands?
Metallica, RATM, Slipknot and some quality punk. How on earth is that not enough for you? The lineup this year is set to be amazing for rock and metal.
Please
If ratm, slipknot and METALLICA play, i may cry. It would be the best weekend of my life, ever. Reading has always been one of my favourite times of year, and with a lineup like that there may never be a better one.
you forgot to mention
MACHINE HEAD
they are probably the best metal band of this generation
id go just to see them and metallica
screw all the other bands
RATM
they have confirmed for Oxegen, does that lessen the odds of them being at reading? because they were rumoured last year for reading and sadly did not play. if not having any other uk dates makes a band likely to play reading, does oxegen mess up that whole theory or are we still in with a good chance?
RATM/Metallica
RATM and Metallica are both confirmed for 'Pinkpop' festival in Holland at the end of may...Im going to that, would love to see them at reading as well!
